Works collaboratively with the assigned primary nurse and all members of the patient's care team to develop safe and individualized treatments that include therapeutic massage and/or other healing techniques as appropriate.Able to perform ongoing assessment of patients for appropriate therapeutic massage as well as other healing interventions ascertains precautions/contraindications for massage prior to each session.Acts as liaison between physician, and patients, their families and the community. ![]() Functions as a contact point for patients, medical staff and the community regarding Integrative Oncology philosophy and programs. Works collaboratively with other members of the treatment team to attain optimal outcomes for patients. Educate patients, family, caregivers and staff on the use of massage in the healing process. Able to provide individualized, safe, appropriate and effective therapeutic massage services to oncology patients. Communicates effectively and positively with staff, patients, families, caregivers and community resources. The Massage Therapist works within a team environment with a focus on patient centered care.
